Refunk interferes. The government-issued ‘I will interfere’-campaign (‘Ik grijp in’) asks civilians to respond actively and responsibly to street violence. As a sign of solidarity, people were asked to use an icon with their profile pictures on social media they used, to spread the word on the campaign.
In exchange, their pictures were shown on cardboards held by Dutch artists, in a repetitive banner video on the campaigns website nederlandveilig.nl that uploads profile pictures that used the icon, and thus constantly shows the faces of those who have signed up, strengthening the sense of unity among the participants. ‘Ik grijp in’ was commissioned by KONG.
