Yesterday more than a hundred front-end web developers gathered in Amsterdam to found an association that aims to further professionalize the front-end programming discipline within the Netherlands and is named Fronteers. The last presentation of the day's congres was presented by our own Bobby van der Sluis, and was titled Flash binnen het Gilde van Frontenders.

In his presentation Bobby explained why Flash should be a discipline within the brand new association and how this can be fulfilled properly in an initiative that was originally founded by people from the web standards community, however has the ambition to represent the front-end discipline as a whole. Bobby also analyzes the nature of the front-end discipline and discusses a few common misconceptions about front-end technologies.
